Carol has been involved with numerous local disability groups since 1979 and supported the Pioneering Care Partnership since it first opened in 1998. Carol, who was originally trained as a state registered nurse, has also completed a training course in Disability Equality Training. Over the years, Carol has both founded and organised a Disabled Ladies Group and been involved with the Primary Care Trust Adult Partnership and the South Durham Wheelchair Users Forum.
